On January 13, 2026, the 5th edition of the “Tratar o cancro por tu” initiative will begin, returning after five years. Supported by Antena 1 radio, this initiative from Ipatimup (Institute of Molecular Pathology and Immunology of the University of Porto), led by Manuel Sobrinho Simões, served as the pretext for the Jornal de Notícias newspaper to interview the 78-year-old pathologist, born in Porto, but with his heart equally rooted in Arouca.
