
After a highly successful first edition that gathered hundreds of people across the country, Ipatimup once again leaves labs and hospital offices.

Deconstructing the myths associated with cancer is the mission that, starting this Friday, will take our Ipatimup researchers to various parts of the country.

Ipatimup is once again stepping out of laboratories and hospital consulting rooms to speak with the public about the latest scientific and medical advancements in cancer research.

"Tratar o cancro por tu" is the name of an Ipatimup initiative now in its second edition.

Sobrinho Simões, a cancer researcher at Ipatimup, explains the need for "quality control" of data and information on cancer.

About a year ago, the first "Tratar o cancro por tu" session took place in the small auditorium of Teatro Rivoli, promoted by Ipatimup and i3S.

The 2nd cycle of "Tratar o cancro por tu" sessions kicks off this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Almeida Garrett Municipal Library Auditorium in Porto.

"Tratar o cancro por tu" will travel to six cities across the country, starting in Porto this Thursday. The project brings together doctors and specialists.

The second edition of the biweekly sessions on cancer literacy promoted by Ipatimup will start in Porto next week.
