“For São João Hospital’s Dr. Maria Bom-Sucesso, treating cancer in children and adolescents, “the goal is to cure them to live 100 years” and with “quality of life.” This requires “early diagnosis” and “working in networks”: support, information, and research networks.”

–JPN Article – JornalismoPortoNet, about the first session of “Tratar o cancro por tu”

“60 years ago, I had a brother who died of a thymoma. It was the greatest trauma of my life and for my whole family, and throughout my life, the word ‘cancer’ was never spoken. It was a terrible trauma; communication was nonexistent. […] My brother was 3 years old, and he was diagnosed when he was a year and a half. […] I would like to know if thymoma is still an incurable cancer.”
