Diário do Sul article on the sixth session of “Tratar o cancro por tu”

“I would like to introduce something I rarely see included in the debate: we know that screening criteria are often, as Dr. Dinis mentioned, based on economic considerations. […] There’s a question about how much we value life or, in this case, death. But I never see the fact discussed that a colonoscopy is not just an exam for early detection. A colonoscopy allows the primary detection. Therefore, the benefit in terms of people’s lives and their individual struggles is enormous.”

– Nuno Marcos, in testimony during the sixth session of “Tratar o cancro por tu”
