“Tratar o cancro por tu” brings together scientists from Ipatimup with some of the best local specialists for an open and simplified conversation about cancer, placing patients at the center of the discussion.

In 2025, Ipatimup will once again travel across the country with the initiative “Tratar o cancro por tu”, breaking down the walls of science, laboratories, and medical offices to engage with the public on the latest scientific and medical advances in cancer research. From January to April, Ipatimup scientists and some of the best local specialists will visit six cities to discuss and demystify cancer.

In this new series of in-person cancer literacy sessions, the goal will be to discuss scientific advances and the latest therapies, simplify concepts, raise awareness about the need for early diagnosis and prevention, and place patients at the center of the discussion.

The initiative will once again feature some of the country’s top experts, with special emphasis on the participation of Prof. Manuel Sobrinho Simões, director of Ipatimup, at all sessions, as well as actress Rita Blanco.

We thank all participants, partners and the public.
